Excursions in the Marche region: Conero Natural Park

Conero Natural Park extends all the way to the sea with its familiar headland featuring steep cliffs and intimate bays. During your holiday at Natural Village Resort, you can alternate between having fun on the beach and in the pool and enjoying pleasant walks along one of the 18 trails in Conero Natural Park: immerse yourself in the 5,800 hectares of protected nature, climb the stunning peaks of Mount Conero, explore the caves decorated with rock engravings, or enjoy bird watching at the lakes of Portonovo.

National Park of Monti Sibillini

When it appears on the horizon, you will recognise the National Park of Monti Sibillini instantly. Why, you ask? Because of its peaks, carved by glaciers and over 2,000 metres high, its brightly coloured slopes, or perhaps because of its wild charm. Amongst its steep peaks, dense forests, and broad valleys, you might run into chamois and ibex, or have the chance to admire majestic golden eagles. From amongst the gentians, edelweiss, and colourful lentil fields rises Mount Vettore, the highest of the Sibillini mountains, where the legendary prophetess Sibilla is said to have lived. While you’re there, don’t miss the Lame Rosse (Red Blades) and the charming Lake Fiastra.

Natural Regional Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi

In September 1997, the Marche region’s largest regional protected area, the Natural Regional Park of Gola della Rossa and Frasassi, was born. Today, the “green heart of the Marche region” has been nominated a UNESCO World Heritage site. With its countless hiking trails, you can explore the famous Fracassi caves, which play host to a number of events and concerts, and discover places that leave you open-mouthed in wonder: the crystalised lake, “Niagara Falls”, the “Grand Canyon”, the Infinite Hall, and many other wonders!
